When you're not home, love still is.

Automatic pet feeders with a stainless steel bowl
Most automatic feeders use a plastic bowl. Plastic scratches, holds odours and goes cloudy within a few months — it is the single most common complaint in feeder reviews across the category. Both ilu feeders use a 304 food-grade stainless bowl that lifts out and goes in the dishwasher.
Both models dispense dry kibble only, up to 14 mm diameter, and run on a DC 5V adapter with a 48-hour battery backup so a power cut does not mean a missed meal. Feeder Pro connects on 2.4GHz WiFi; Feeder Pro 5G is dual-band and connects on either. Neither requires the app to run a schedule — meals can be set entirely on the device.

Our story
We started with a failure
A feeder that jammed on day two of a five-day trip. The cat was fine — a neighbour helped. The feeder went in the bin, and we started writing down what actually goes wrong with these things.
The problem
Nobody buys a feeder because they want a gadget
They buy it because they are going to be somewhere else, and the alternative is asking a favour of a neighbour, or overfilling a bowl and hoping.
That makes it an anxiety purchase, not a convenience purchase. And anxiety does not respond to a nicer app icon. It responds to knowing what happens when the power goes out, when the kibble bridges in the hopper, when the WiFi drops.
So we wrote the product around the failure modes instead of the feature list.
Our answer
Less intelligence, more reliability
We could have put a camera in it. We chose not to. Cameras are where the privacy complaints, the connectivity failures and the returns come from in this category, and a camera does not help a cat get fed at 6am.
What we spent the budget on instead: a mechanical anti-jam that reverses the auger when it meets resistance, a battery backup that holds a schedule for 48 hours without power, and a bowl made of 304 stainless steel rather than plastic.
The app exists and it is fine. It is not the reason to buy this.
What we can show you
Four promises, with the material spec attached
How it is made
Designed with our manufacturing partners in Shenzhen
We do not own a factory, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. We work with an OEM partner in Bao'an, Shenzhen that has been building pet electronics for a decade, holds FCC, CE and RoHS certification, and runs a 500,000-unit annual line.
What we control is the specification and the inspection. The bowl is 304 stainless because we specified it over the plastic one that ships on most units at this price. Every batch is sampled for auger torque, seal compression and drop test before it is cleared for our warehouse.
Each unit carries an FCC identifier you can verify in the public FCC database, and the food-contact parts are covered by FDA food-contact test reports we will send you on request.

If it will not connect, start here
Most setup failures have the same cause: the feeder is trying to join a 5GHz network it cannot see. Work through the six steps below — most people solve it at step one or four.
